Seasons of Wonder

From October to January, we’re celebrating Seasons of Wonder, exploring the magic, discovery and joy of each season, from autumn’s changing colours to Christmas and a new year of firsts. Join Marvin’s Seasons of Wonder walk to explore the seasons, discover ideas to try at home and access our free activity downloads. Then, connect with your local Monkey Puzzle nursery to discover even more ways to play, learn and grow.

Seasons of Wonder

A chapter a month, three things to explore in each, and an activity to take home.

How it works

  1. Enter your postcode, and Marvin sets off for your nearest nursery.
  2. Walk Marvin along the path and open each wonder to see what the children have been doing, adding its activity to your pack as you go.
  3. Arrive at your local nursery where you can find out more and download your activities online.

Whispers of Autumn

We’re looking at how exploring autumn colours, collecting seasonal treasures and discovering woodland wildlife can spark children’s curiosity and imagination, while supporting their language, creativity and understanding of the natural world.

Kindness Grows Here

Seasons of Wonder: October

As leaves change colour and fall from the trees, autumn brings a wonderful opportunity for young children to explore colour right on their doorstep. Noticing a leaf change from green to orange or picking out the different shades around them encourages children to observe the natural world and follow their curiosity.

At Christmas, some of the most valuable gifts that you can receive are handmade crafts from your child. For young children too, making thoughtful crafts can be very valuable to their development. Cutting, sticking, painting and experimenting gives children the freedom to make their own choices, problem-solve and express their imagination.
