History
Our experience of the childcare sector dates back to 1978 when the first nursery was opened in Cambridgeshire (trading as Ladybird Day Nursery).
On March 17th 2002, Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries launched their very first childcare setting in Hertfordshire. For owners Mark and Rebecca Crosby it was the beginning of a hugely successful journey into the day nurseries industry. This dynamic husband and wife team are the originators of the nursery franchise. They pioneered and delivered this highly successful concept over 20 years ago.
Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries has now grown to over 60 childcare settings nationwide. This makes us the UK’s largest childcare franchise network and the 3rd largest childcare provider overall. We are hugely fortunate to work so closely with our passionate and committed nursery owners, supporting them with the delivery of high-quality childcare.
About Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries
Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries are designed with children in mind. Each nursery is equipped to the highest standards within a safe, secure and caring environment. We have thought about everything to ensure our settings provide the very best childcare, from child-sized toilets to specially fitted play areas.
Baby rooms, catering for children from three months, all have separate sleep rooms and changing facilities. The baby’s day rooms provide a stimulating environment through the use of natural light, sensory toys and activities. Music, stories, art and craft and fresh air combine to provide a typical day in the baby room.
Tweenies and Toddler rooms are always buzzing with activity. Whether the children are baking biscuits, getting messy with gloop or learning pencil control, it’s all great fun. The emphasis in these rooms is learning through play and this is also an age where lots of patience and understanding is required.
Preschool rooms focus on preparing children for primary school through play. A structured day, coupled with lots of fresh air, provides a busy day for all in the Preschool section. The learning is centred around the seven key stages:
- communication and language
- personal, social and emotional development
- physical development
- literacy
- mathematics
- understanding the world
- expressive arts and design
Security at Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries is paramount. All the Nurseries have secure entrances and all visitors and parents have to go through the security system for access. We operate a password system for third-party collection and all children have to be signed in and out.
