Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries believe in the importance of supporting and giving back to our local community. We strive to improve the world around us. As an organisation, we care about others and want to be able to help to make a positive impact beyond the children within our nurseries where we can.

All of our nurseries know they play a special part in their local communities, joining families together and helping to create life long bonds and friendships between them. This goes even further as they support local charities and causes that are near and dear to the staff, parents and children. They all choose charities and support these throughout the year in a wide variety of events and fund raising activities.

At Monkey Puzzle Head Office, we also understand the place we have in our own community and take great pride in being able to support charities that are special to us and do amazing things for the people who need that support. As a team, we spent a great deal of time reviewing many local charities. We discussed who we wanted to support, why we wanted to help them and how we would be able to do so. Together, we finally reached a unanimous decision. We chose to support a foundation very close to our hearts who we believe do incredible things. Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries have continued to support a local charity in Tring through donations and fundraising called ‘The Pepper Foundation.’

Why choose the Pepper Foundation as our charity?

Founded in 1987, The Pepper Foundation is a small charity raising money to help fund children’s hospice at home nursing care in Bucks and Herts. Pepper aims to alleviate the suffering of children with complex health needs or life-limiting conditions. Any funds they raise are directly used to support nurses providing specialist paediatric care for children in need. Care is provided free of charge in patients’ own homes and is unique in this area as it is available 24 hours a day, all year round.

The Children’s Hospice at Home nursing team and the service they provide is managed by Rennie Grove Hospice Care. As well as nursing care for the children, they offer practical advice for parents and emotional support for siblings and other family members. They aim to ensure their lives are as happy and comfortable as possible. They help do this by giving children the choice to be cared for at home, surrounded by the people and things they love.

As an organisation, we encourage any support that can be offered to help Pepper to continue to provide the fantastic things that they do. You can support them through fundraising, sponsorship and volunteering. They also hold an annual Pepper Foundation Show, an incredible night of live music put on by their talented volunteers.
