Nursery Managers at Monkey Puzzle provide professional leadership and management for the nursery and its staff and manage the day to day running of the nursery, delivering consistent, high-quality standards of care and education for all children.
Our managers are also responsible for keeping clear and accurate records for our children, specifically writing clear objective observations. To help with this, they are excellent at planning and organisation, and have good IT and presentation skills.
Managers at Monkey Puzzle are strong leaders, communicating well with both parents and staff, and help to motivate, encourage, and manage the nursery team. They help support training needs with their staff and push them to continue to progress, developing training plans and evaluating training that they undertake.
A Nursery Manager has lots of responsibilities around the nursery, from recruiting, inducting, and supporting all staff to ensuring delivery of high-quality childcare practice. Alongside responsibilities within the day to day running of the nursery, they help to support our parents and families, work with closely with outside agencies, manage staff and nursery running costs, facilitate inspections by regulatory bodies and implement any recommendations and much more.
Essential to your role is experience in the following:
- Minimum full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Designated Safeguarding Lead
- Safer Recruitment training
- Paediatric First Aid
- Food and Hygiene Level 2
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience of working in a Nursery/Preschool setting within a senior role i.e., Nursery Manager, Deputy Nursery Manager
- Excellent working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
- Excellent knowledge of the current Early Years Inspection Framework
- Thorough knowledge of and appreciation for child safeguarding and welfare
- Strong understanding of health and safety and practical hygiene issues
