Tiny Turtles have been exploring different textures this week. They have enjoyed rolling and squashing playdough and squeezing shaving foam in their hands. Some of the children have learnt new words such as “wet” and “sticky” especially with the water play yesterday!
Cheeky Chimps/Happy Hippos have been learning all about Goldilocks and the three bears. They went on a walk through the ‘woods’ and found some natural items such as pine cones. The children enjoyed counting their pine cones and then hiding them again. They have also been exploring how to make lumpy porridge, runny porridge and porridge that is just right!! The children thoroughly enjoyed acting out the story of Goldilocks and the three bears using the props from the story sack.
Bouncing Bears have been experimenting with wax crayons and paint, they were amazed that the paint wouldn’t stick to the crayon! The children loved creating textured pictures by using bubble solution mixed with paint and then making it bubble up by blowing through a straw – what a mess but mess = fun!!! The children have also been looking at math activities in a lot of depth. We have been matching socks with our odd sock game (good news for when the odd socks come through the laundry!!), they have been playing a variety of bingo games, some shapes and some numbers and also completing some simple addition and subtractions using our flower pots and flowers!
Our beautiful new mud kitchen has arrived! Time to dust off those recipe books…….The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the mud kithcen, using a variety of mixing bowls, pots, pans and spoons to create their own mud pies! They also enjoyed role playing ‘cafes’ and taking orders for the chef to make some scrummy foods
Thank you all to our amazing Monkey Puzzle families! It has been a very fun week with lots more planned for the weeks ahead..…..
