May Day is to celebrate the first day of Summer. It’s often marked with lots singing, dancing and cakes! Why not celebrate May Day by making your own May Pole?
What you will need
- Paper towel holder,
- Glue,
- Ribbons (or strips of coloured fabric)
- Glitter
- Paint
How to make a Maypole Craft
- To begin, get a kitchen role holder and slit the ends so it stands upright.
- Decorate your kitchen role holder however you like! In this example paint and glitter was used.
- Then take some strips of ribbon and glue these to the inside top of the kitchen roll holder so they stream down the outside.
This is so much fun for little children to play with, perfect for tiny dolls and little hands and can be sourced from your recycling! Your Maypole also makes a lovely table top decoration for May Day. Have fun!
